For a Dutch technology developer the loading and performance of a ducted horizontal axis turbine were analysed.
Using Ansys CFX a model was setup to find the maximum hydrodynamic power of the turbine for different upstream velocities. This resulted in a relationship between the angular velocity of the turbine (RPM) and respectively the torque and the power.
