In 2018 the Tidal Technology Center Grevelingendam (TTC-GD) will be constructed in the south-west of the Netherlands. The TTC-GD will be an open access innovations, test, certifying and demonstration center for tidal and river energy turbines. It will be the only location in the world that allows developers of Ocean Energy Technologies to bring their technology to TRL 9 (market readiness)
DynaSim has undertaken extensive CFD analysis on the design and performance of the TTC. The system of channels has been streamlined to assure maximum flow velocity and high power output. In the process the loads and performance of different horizontal and vertical axis tidal turbines have been determined.
